FORGIVE ME

FORGIVE ME

By L. J. Ernster © 1961

Forgive me my Dolly,
For things that I‟ve done,
To you since the day,
When our lives became one.
Forgive me the words, That have saddened your heart. The hours that my pleasures, Have kept us apart.
Forgive me the harshness, The struggle and strife.
The bitter hard road,
That‟s been our way of life.
Forgive me all this,
And I promise I‟ll never,
Again cause you pain,
Till the end of forever.
Forgive me my angel, Oh light of my life. My loveable sweetheart, Adorable wife.

( This is the third of four original poems I wrote to my wife while attending the ink school in Chicago in 1961.
The original documents were misplaced, and not recovered till
August 2000, nearly 40 years after they were written.)
