IF

"IF"

By L. J. Ernster © December, 1987

If the sun goes down in the morning,
And comes back up at night, Will the world turn upside down,
And wrong things come out right?
Will the bad guys beat the good guys, And the villains get the girl?
If you throw it into a pigsty,
Will a pig really eat a Pearl?
Will the Army love the Navy, And Sailors admire Marines?
Will Airmen walk where they're going, And live on a diet of beans?
No, as long as the world keeps turning, After we're all long gone. The sun will go down at twilight, And come back up at dawn.
The good guys still will win in the end, The ladies will marry our heros. The self centered people that never bend, Will still wind up ciphers, (that's Zeros).
